Music
The Music Ministry at BHUMC offers a variety of musical worship experiences for all ages to join. In addition to choirs and ensembles, we encourage soloists and instrumentalists to share their musical gifts during worship.
- Chancel Choir meets every Thursday at 7 pm in the choir loft from September to June. The choir invites new members, and encourages anyone who enjoys singing to join us. Come to rehearsals any Thursday evening,
or contact Pete Van Keuren or Jill Zygo, our Music Directors, by contacting their emails or phone numbers listed below.
- Joyful Voices is a casual Christian vocal group that sings at worship services on the average of once a month. The group covers material ranging from spirituals and gospel music to contemporary worship music
and re-arranged classical hymns. Rehearsals are usually following worship services on Sundays prior to singing during worship. Other instrumentalists, including drums, guitars, horns, etc., are incorporated on an
as-needed basis. This is a great way to witness praise through singing that needs less commitment than the Chancel Choir, which meets every Thursday evening in the spring, fall and winter. Contact Pete Van Keuren at 518-860-4826 with questions or for more information.
- Voices of Hope is an enthusiastic and fun-loving choral group of 6th-12th graders. From contemporary songs by Lauren Daigle to traditional hymns like Amazing Grace, this group sings a variety of Christian music. Rehearsals are after church from 11:30-12:15 PM. All are welcome! If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to Jill Zygo at jillnyhan@yahoo.com or call 518-859-3734.
- Cherub Choir is a musical group of children ages 3-7. This casual and upbeat choir rehearses during church school at 10:05 AM on Sunday mornings. We aim to build confidence and joy through singing praise songs. Cherub Choir sings at Christmas time and on Palm Sunday. All are welcome! For more information, please feel free to reach out to Jill Zygo at jillnyhan@yahoo.com or call 518-859-3734.
